..was there during the July school holidays, must say NOT much to see; there was very little water and no access to the river. Would not go again.

We took our van (not an off road) to Willie resort from Nyngan a few years ago. Mixture of good gravel and bitumen. The road to warren sealed all the way. Willie Retreat is on the road that bisects the marshes. There were good caravan sites there.

Have a look at their web site Willie Retreat

We where out there this time last year and providing it is not raining you would have no trouble. the roads are good gravel roads. There was not a lot to see as the irrigation authority only let water through when they want to, it was as dry as a dead dingo when we where there.

A stay at Willie Retreat is worth while as they will take you to places that you would not normally see. Don't plan to stay at Walgett .

Their is a lot of water heading down the Macquarie at the moment so could be worth a look. Lots of big black snakes.
