200 series Blue tooth problem

Had my 20,000 service today and the only problem I asked to be fixed was the Blue tooth phone system.

I can hear perfectly, but every one complains over the reception when I am underway. OK when stationary.

Dealer told me it is my Apple I phone and it needs the later softwear. I changed to the latest model and softwear and the noise is still the same.

They now claim it is the Apple phone as their Nokia works OK.

All our company cars and Apple I phones work very well. (Holden, Falcon and Subaru)

Has any one had the same problem with the Toyota 200 series Blue tooth phone system?

my sister in law has the same problem what they haven't told you is toyota has a problem with there bluetooth intergration setup. similar problem in the corolla.. and no adjustment. i'm not a big iphone fan. each to there own.

See if you can adjust the speaker volume for you bluetooth devices, or see if you have an adjustment

i hope this helps.

also not sure if toyota runs the same b/t setup in the 200 as the corolla

The dealer is to replace my unit as there are bulletins from Toyota stating there is a fault.

You may wish to tip off your sister.

Is it a Sahara or GXL / VX add on? Different systems. I think the service bulletin relates the the latter.

If it is the Sahara then you can configure it and make it louder.

Hold the menu button

Turn the parkers on and off 3 times.

A service menu will come up. Go to audio ( or something like that, Then microphone and turn up a few notches.

It is a Dec 2009 VX t/d.

Thank you all for the info. Would appreciate the date or copy of the Toyota Bulletin.

there are 5 service bulletins relating to this matter, one of them should be able to fix the problem, sahara's have factory sat nav with bluetooth, the problem does not seem to affect these models

Hi pling, I also had a 20k service yesterday on Hilux and mentioned to service dept about bluetooth problem same as yours, service mngr had a look at the codes in the radio and had no hesitation in saying that the radio would replaced under warranty. There is a software problem (in Hilux at least) and by the sound of your probs may also be in 200 series, Best of luck
