warn winch wiring

Hi All
Have just fitted a warn m8000 to my hdj and looked at a number of sites for wiring, but main query is do I need a fused link of some sort on battery wiring for protection .

check what the instructions say, and follow them,
if no fuse to be fitted ensure you put conduit over your cabling and secure it
well while avoiding
places it could chaff,
some use them most dont due to the high currents required

Not required, it is just like the starter motor on the vehicle.
Make sure that the electrical cables are positioned so that they are not going to rub on any metal part of the vehicle.

Mine is not fused but the wires are all protected by pipe wrap. A good battery connection is essential on both the + and - .
Mine also has a separate earth for the solenoid to the winch body.
