Hi all
Well I am of to
Innamincka next week,
Well as far as I can get due to rain Via
Toowoomba, St.George ,
Cunnamulla.
I will only get to
Thargomindah ,at the moment due to road closes. So on route I will go to Lighting Ridge,
Bourke ,
Cobar, or any other place of interest on route to
Innamincka
As you can see I do not care how far I go of my main direction
The reason for this thread I am looking for advise on great
places to visit &
Bush camp .as time I have plenty of & it could be a few weeks before roads to
Innamincka are open again.

When you get to
Thargomindah, go and visit the old power generator at the
bore. It is really interesting.
I think the tour is at 4 pm. Check at the Tourist Centre.

If you go to
Bourke and head west towards Innaminka you should call in at Reola Station. It is south of Wnaaring on the
White Cliffs road. Check out the Big Shed. A fairly new and very impressive shearing shed.
Give them a call before you head out. You can get information from the
Tourist Information in
Bourke and you can see a story about the shed on the RM Williams web site, just search 'the Big Shed'.

CLC50,
Just got back from that part of the world last week. We spent a week
camping around the Innaminka area a couple of weeks ago. You should also consider
camping out at
the Dig Tree. We spent a few wonderful days there , the
camping is free but there's an $11.00 "management fee" as it's on private land. The
ranger there, Bomber is a great guy and supplied us fire wood each evening and even stopped by to enjoy a meal with us. When we arrived at Innaminka we were surprised to find that nearly all the
camping spots were closed except across the cooper from the town common. I would advise you to contact the friendly people at the Trading Post to check on what is really open or closed. By the way it's all bitumen now all the way to the Qld/
SA border so you may be able to get a bit further than you thought. Maybe check with the staff at the
Noccundra hotel at to the status of the roads. Also remember to bring a yabbie pot/net. They are everywhere and although there weren't too many fish around we had a few magnificent feeds of yabbies. We used no-name cat food in the nets & found this worked the best. Don't forget the camera as the wild flowers & birds are great.
Anyhow have a wonderful trip is is a great part of the world.
