What's people's thoughts on sealing the back of a styleside ute?
A bead of silicon around the ute liner before putting the canopy on seals the canopy nicely.... but what about the tailgate?
it seems to suck in dust and water... hardly surprising given that you can see daylight!
anyone know of a bolt on rubber seal or something that helps in this department?
any homegrown solutions?

cheers,

KG

Go to your local rubber store (eg Clarksons if your'e in SA or equivalant) and buy a 6-8" rubber strip to suit the width. I cut out 2 x P shapes that fit on the tailgate struts that stops it from sliding down and put the rest under that rubber ute mat. It's on a series 75 ute and works ok.

Hi KG, I fixed my problem with a "positive" air vent in the roof of the canopy. Has kept the dust out on some fairly extensive desert trips but watch out for oncoming traffic in dusty conditions. About $25 outlay if you fit yourself. Flexiglass canopies stock them. Cheers.
