HI All
A quick question regarding the above GPS navigator.
It appears to come supplied with the 1:250000 maps, but I am wondering if you can load other maps onto the SD Card. I have 1:50000 maps that I purchased years ago.
I am still tossing up between the VMS 500s and Hema 5. Most of the work will be on-road, hence why I am leaning towards the VMS500s, unless I am convinced otherwise.
Regards
Ash

Ash,
I have been doing some research into these new units, Not available until mid sept, waiting on
mine for a trip to the cape.
I spoke to Brian at GPSOZ and they are different to the older 500 model in that you can load other maps onto the card for the unit and also use different sized cards as
well, up to 16G, this allows more detailed maps such as the 1:50K to be loaded, more detail more space used on the card.
I would check which software system it uses to ensure that it's compatible with the maps you are currently running.
Best bet would be to Give GPSOZ a call as I have found them extremely helpful.
Regards
Tazza

Thanks Tazza.
I went and had a play with both a VMS and Hema down at the local Opposite Lock.
I'm more swinging back to the Hema as I know I can definately do what I wish to do with the unit.
Thanks for your response anyway
