Has anyone heard of a place called Tichler or similar. The scant info I have is that it is on one of the rivers north of
Port Hedland and used to be
well used by the workers from the old Goldsworthy and
Shay Gap mines. Apparently there is/was good
camping and fishing along the river banks. I would appreciate any info available. Thanks in anticipation.

Tichella is shown as a fishing location in Roads and Tracks of Western Australia. It is about half way between the De
Grey River mouth and Pardoo.

Its a great spot but make sure you check the tides as a high tide will make it hard to get in if you are towing .The turn off is about 90 khs from port Headland. Enjoy

Great spot.
It is on the DeGrey Station, so is private property. When I last spoke to them, they did not require visitors to contact them.
There is good fishing from
the beach, from rocks and from a tidal inlet. There is a natural rock
boat ramp into the tidal inlet at high tide. It is often busy with the locals on weekends.
Please don't mess it up!
Cheers,
Peter

Thanks heaps for the info - we just love to get away from the masses and enjoy the peace and quiet. We tow an off road camper trailer so can cope with pretty
well any conditions. The
places we visit are normally left better than we found them so no worries at all about messing it up!! See you out there one day maybe!

Thanks Motherhen - great info. We heard about the place from an older couple who used to visit there many years ago when the Goldsworthy and
Shay Gap towns were still in habitation. They had forgotten where it was exactly so I just knew our Explore oz friends would be able to help out as always!!
