Looks like the Historic Mansfield Pub has suffered some major damage through a fire early this morning :(

That follows the Maindample pub fire a few weeks back. All that was left is the speedboat hanging in the tree.

I live in Mansfield and find it very amusing they use the term 'historic. Sure, it is a good tourist pub with decent food and is very popular, but it ain't historic. This combined with the Maindample pub burning will be good for the Delatite pub and the Bonnie Doon Hotel. I am sure there will be plenty of well heeled skiers tonight with nowhere to eat!

We had dinner there this time last year it was a really nice spot ( except for the obnoxious yuppie wannabee snow tourists being very rude to staff and other customers )

We had lunch at the Healsville hotel the next day that was a really astounding meal that I could recommend to anyone traveling through who enjoys really good dining.

Not pub grub by any stretch ! :-)
