Help please !.
I have the tunit chip fitted to a 4.5L TD V8 cab chassis Landcruiser. When it goes in for a service i remove it in case of warranty issues. Damn difficult reaching in on the rail to unclick and getting harder working blind trying to depress the little clip.frightened I will pull the wiring out in doing so
Solution was simple in theory..make up a short extension with a male & female plug so I can see what I am doing
Problem is that I have spent hours hunting around Diesel engine
places etc (Toyota parts were no help) trying to identify the plug.
I believe i have found it on a web site in China..I have exhausted Google.....
The Tunit female goes on to the pressure rail and fits inline ..all I want to do is make a short extension that can stay there all the time
The picture I have inserted looks like it is the correct one if so where can I purchase one in Australia and have I nmaded it correctly.....this has been unbelievably frustrating trying to name and source
cant insert the picture please try this web link
3 pin connector
thanks

looking at it i would go to a wreckers and check out some wiring looms, i am fairly certain it looks like some of the sensor plugs, just get the plug and a broken sensor that has a good plug, cut off the sensor bit and solder up some wires, bit of heat shrink and presto you have your extention lead...

Hi Bungarra,
To me this looks like a fairly common male/female plug assembly as used by Tojo, I would start with your local auto elec if you want a new one or try panel beaters...yes panel beaters as they always replacing tail/
parking lights & this type of plug is used on these assemblies
Hope this helps.....also leaving an extentsion harness in place when removing 'the chip' wont that 'stick out'?
CU down the road

Just be aware that most Toyota plugs and sockets are position specific.
That is the little grooves etc are for one plug only and wont fit elsewhere on the car.
Had a problem when I wanted to swap towing loom over to get tail out the other side of towbar.
Other plugs are the same.
I got some switches out of a Sahara to use for reversing camera on/offs and
Driving lights on the trans console and each one would only go in one position.
Also those
places in China will want you to buy 1000 or something silly as a minimum (perhaps)

Would it be better to just leave it, is it that visible?
I'm sure it's not something they would be looking for.

The tunit module has a RS232 (DB9 style) plug going in to it from the 3 pin plug.
You can buy a socket and wire it to join the wires that are broken in the Tunit loom.
If not try DP chips because their chips come with a bypass socket.
By doing this you can leave the loom in and just disconnect the box.
Either way they are still going to know the wiring has been changed....they just don't see the box.
Mid 2007 on Hilux D4D has the same plug.
