Creb Track

Looking at doing the Creb Track in 3 weeks and wondering if it is open and if anyone has done it recently.

Hi Rob & Lorna,

It looks like it is currently closed but should be open by the time you wish to drive it ...

We have experienced large amounts of rain these past few days and it looks set to continue for the remainder of the week.

Regards,

Scott

Hi Rodney, we have had so much rain up here, that there is no way the creb track will be open by the time you get up this way. If the weather keeps up like it has i cant see it being open any time this year.

The Bloomfield coast road to Cooktown is open and in good condition, i was up at Cape Trib last weekend and it was raining the whole time.

Thanks Col
I thought it might be like that. My son lives at Mission Beach and he said it has been raining solid.
We will do the Bloomfield road and maybe stay a night at Cooktown instead.

We are off tommorrow for 8 weeks in the Cairns area.

Rod,

If you are driving up the Bloomfield track, perhaps look at staying at the historic Lions Den Hotel -

http://www.lionsdenhotel.com.au/

I also highly recommend Elim Beach, north of Cooktown. Go and say hi to Ediie and camp right on the water's edge -

Hope you have a great trip.

Scott
