Never had a Primus, but have had several 3 Ways. They all perform best on Gas. 240 volt is second and 12 volt is third.

ditto to notso - mine (chescold) works very well on gas, well on 240 - and good when travelling - hardwired.

I have one of those Gasmate 3-ways and on gas it will freeze stuff in the bottom of the fridge.

Hi Teraa,
Does your post mean about running the fridge on gas when travelling?

If so, dont even think about it, it's a No No and definitely not recommended.

There are sure to be some who will disagree and say that they have run on gas while travelling with no problems but they have been lucky.

If you happen to be unlucky enough to have an accident and there is flames involved the very first thing the Insurance guy will do is check the gas bottle valves. If they are open ,bang, no insurance. simple as that.

As others have said very good on gas, good on 240v when camped up but only ok on 12V when travelling.

Hope this helps you.

Disco.

It's for a set up camp so no travelling just wanted to get away from the gen. noise. but I don't see too many Primus recommendations. Thanks for your help
