Hi all, Planning a trip next year around OZ. Have decided on a Jayco stlye of pop up camper. The Dove looks the goods as far as layout size etc. Can anyone tell me the names of other brands that do a similar camper to Jayco.

Thanks,
Mark

Corrimal do a Campervan. Pretty reasonable to.

Jayco seem to be the benchmark for this type of van though.

Hi Surfer Boy,

We were all set on a Jayco Swan but decided to look at the Coromal Silhouette on the way to ordering the Jayco. We didin't get to the Jayco dealer, but ordered the Silhouette on the spot. IMHO Coromal's quality was far superior and the off road version seemed much more rodust. Our shake down trip is next weekend to Wood's Point.

Another to look at is the Goldstream Storm.

Good Luck. "Live today as if there may be no tomorrow"

I had a 2nd hand Jayco Flamingo offroad for a couple of years & it went well on the black top & on light off road stuff. Have a good look at the Goldstream.. they appear to be better than Jayco & Coromal in my humble opinion..

I had a Goldstream off roader and the fit and finish was better than Jayco, and better by far than Coramal. When I pointed out a couple of roughly finished pieces on the Coramal, the salesmans answer was a shrug. That said it all for me.
The wire on the Goldstream for winding it up was a least a third thicker than the Jayco.
A friends father was in Augusta when one of the corner posts on his Jayco collapsed and he had to back track to Bunbury to get it fixed. Wasn't happy but I suspect it was a fairly isolated instance as there are hundreds of Jaycos on the road.
The only reason I traded it in on a pop top was that I'm getting too bloody old for winding up and down, and with the pop top we can stop in laybys and have a cuppa easily.
Enjoy the travelling, wish I could do more of it.

If there is only 2 or 3 of you go for AVan . No canvas to worry about and more secure .

Jayco are good at marketing but do your homework properly and you will find the finish, quality of cupboards, upholstery and curtains and overall build quality to be superior on the goldstream.

G'day SURFer Boy, We picked up our Dove Jayco a short while ago (4 weeks), although we haven't done any long trips we are very happy with it.
Reguardless of other comments we have found the finsh to be of a high quality.
We did opt for a few extras, eg inner spring mattress- a must, auxillary battery set up inside van - charged while on the move, charged by solar panel when on longer stops, Tregg coupling, matched wheels and tyres to pulling vehicle.
We've met families on the road with there Jaycos and the majority are more than happy with theres.
Hope that helps, see you on the road ..................maybe next year on the Gunbarrel???

One of my customers design and supply a very good camper trailer, they're called Pioneer Camper Trailers and have outlets in various places...

Their web site is found here.
