Moderate flooding is expected in the Murray below yarrowonga weir and major flooding is expected above Hume. The current release from Kancobon is 390cu/m/sec. The Murrbidgee at Wagga is also expecting a mod flood peak tomorrow.
Feel sorry for anyone adversely effected, but gee it will be good for the inviroment, good thing now they saved some of that
water in menidee lakes, which will also be getting another top up.
The South Aussies better start looking for their gum boots, if they have not already.
Cheers Pete

Pete,
There isn't much
water movement occuring to the north of the
Menindee lakes at the moment.
I am looking forward to wetting a line in 2 weeks time in the Maranoa, Paroo, and
Warrego rivers in our trip where we will hopefully get to
Hungerford (currently a bit wet there).
Cheers Kev

I think the
water in the McIntyre will be lucky to
Walgett as It has caused any river height increases south of
Goondiwindi as yet and above that is only minor at that.
The Namoi is only showing as rising at Bullawa so again I think more rain will be needed to get any decent flows down into the
Menindee lakes.
This is where getting the info to base my assumptions on :)
I hope you have a great Fathers day also :)
Cheers Kev

That has only caused a slight rise in the river level (2m in the past 14 days). It needs to get at least another 5m higher to put anything substantial down into the
Menindee lakes as there is a lot of irrigators who will be topping up their storages from the flood earlier in the year.
That and I think if any
water reaches the
Menindee lakes it will be diverted down stream to keep the South Aussies quiet for awhile LOL

Kev love your good intentions mate, but the by the flood warnings in vic and along the Murray the South Aussies may have more
water then they want lol.
Have a look at the flood warnings on BOM then click on Vic. They have also started releasing
water from the spillway at Burrinjack after 60000ml poured in yesterday. I think it may have spooked them.

Pete,
At least they (South Aussies) are not picking on us Queenslanders about stealing "Their"
water, after it has finally fallen in their state hehe
Hope ya had a great day yesterday ;)
Cheers Kev

Hi Pete
We have had some fantastic record rainfalls here in SA over the last few days and has gone from one extreme to another. One of the best things for the environment is that fresh
water is now making its way into the Coorong which has not happened for many years and
Goolwa is not surrounded by mud flats any more, but fresh
water. Here in
Clare I recorded 84mm of rain for the 36 hours that it rained, with more rain this week.
As they say there is money in mud but not in dust.
Cheers
Stephen
