Does anyone know of the state of the access road into
Rainbow Valley at the moment? Is this road a problem after heavy rain? I was thinking of stopping in there in about a week, however I note that a lot more rain is forecast.
Thanks

Maybe not a good idea MF. No up to date info, but when we were coming through the Hugh Stock Route from
Chambers Pillar, we met a thunderstorm and rain. We asked at Stuart Wells RH about
Rainbow Valley road in view of the rain, and they said no way - they close it as soon as it rains. So we changed out plans and went back to
Alice Springs, visiting
Rainbow Valley later in fine weather.

Thanks Motherhen. I'll stay on the bitumen a little longer.

I was there two weeks ago and the road had been graded just prior - we were one of the first on the freshly graded road and it was perfect. Don't know what has happened regarding the weather since.
