As the topic says, how do you re register your car and caravan in NSW if your in say WA
Is there a way to do it. Will the RTA in NSW accept a mechanical check from a mechanic in WA
Cheers,
Cruiser

If it is already registered in NSW you can ring the RTA and get approval to have the local car inspection done, fax the report to them and they will renew it over the phone with a credit card. They will post the rego sticker to an address you nominate but you MUST check later to make sure your postal address hasn't been changed permanently.
Since WA doesn't have rego checks, you will probably have to undego the check they do for changing rego for interstate vehicles being registered in WA.
Worked for me doing the procedure in Tasmania.
Does not work for heavy vehicles that have to go over the RTA pits though.

A mate of
mine got his car checked for rego in NSW, then sent details to NT rta, who then sent him back papers.
