Changhong take a lot of beating for durability and reliability. we fit them to the exploration vehicles and dongas and they dont fail. Reliability is impressive compared to other brands. another positive easy to retune when you go to another location.

2nd that. I brought a Changhong at Harvey Norman (was a white case unit and was cheap) and has not missed beat. Kids can set up and tune it when we head to Northern NSW. Can run on 12 volt, or through a 240V/12 volt converta (came with unit). great poicture and kids use the PS3 and Wii with it as
well.
Also has inbult HD tunner, and still select anoluge...

Changhong is Celestial brand. 60 years of beautiful history manufacturing TV and electrical goods. If you read their company history and their alliances it is impressive. Reason I think there equipment is reliable reading their
heritage and dedication to R&D.

We purchased a cheap LCD television from eBay years ago (the same brand came out on special at Woolworths the following year and probably never seen again). It was sold for 240 v but by removing the adaptor it worked direct from 12 v. We rarely use it, but it has survived many months of travel, including some pretty punishing outback roads, and even survived a fall from the fridge before we had the multi directional arm mounting for it, as I'd forgotten to put it in bed. The tinny sounding little speakers came loose in the mishap, so my husband wired up DSE speakers of much better sound quality, mounting one in the bedroom section and one in the living room section of the caravan. Just look for one that will run from 12 v.

Hi Mark. Have a look at the Kogan brand. Have not found one unhappy customer in all the reports I have seen.
Kogan TV's No affiliation. Just a happy consumer. Bob

Kogan dont survive the bumps. Weak tuners which does not help in poor reception areas.

Hi Mar
Another vote for Kogan
Our family have 3 of them, 2x 16" and a 22". They are mainly used on 12v in caravans, campers, and on a houseboat.
They are 12v or 240v, HD tuners, built in dvd, have all inputs : AV, Composite, HDMI, VGA (can use as a second screen on a latop),s-video, as
well as SD card and usb. We have had them a couple of years now, without problems, apart from one faulty 12-240 power supply, which was replaced without any problem.
No affiliation etc. just very happy with them.
Cheers
Neil

Hi Mark,
I have the Kogan Pro19. Very happy with the unit, has built in DVD etc very easy to retune ( necessary at each different location) The 12v cord & cig lighter is an extra if you buy at same time would probably save on postage.I didn't.
Remember that LCD's dont like to travel laying down having said that I have travelled some pretty awful roads. I stand
mine up on the lounge with shock cord tie downs.
Hope this is some help any q's just ask
Regards Mike.
