Having just returned from 8 weeks up north, wanted to recommend some
places where people are cooking up good value meals in out of the way
places.
Most unexpected cafe; "Whale song" just north of Middle
Lagoon on
Cape Leveque. If you are up this way call in, on
the beach, great atmosphere, coffee and cake where you would not expect to find it.
Gibb River Road special; "Mt Hart Lodge" Absolutely great 3 course meal for $35, can't get better than that 50 km off the GRR and kids under 10 free
Best value; "Heavitree Gap Tavern"
Alice Springs $10 nighly specials (lamb shank the night we went) plus entertainment thrown in for free.
What other
places have people discovered this year?
Its certianly possible to get great food and good value in out of the ways
places. Enjoy!
