Complete my lap tomorrow morning

So in 59 kilometers I will complete my lap of the country. 23739 kilometers in 149 days at an average of 159.3 kilometers a day. Way too fast but I feel like I have been travelling forever.

Staring into the fire, I have been wondering what was the best place. So for my money (not much now) these are 3 places, you should not miss on your way around:

No 1 The top pool at Emma Gorge at El Questro Station

No 2 The Gregory River crossing at Riversleigh station

No 3 The upper falls at Lawn Hill National Park.

Very jealous of you mate.

And yes, Emma Gorge certainly is a beautiful place. Haven't seen the other two, so can't comment on them ;)

I've also got to say Barred Creek just north of Broome is also beautiful. Stayed there for a few nights during our honeymoon in 2007 and haven't come across anything quite like it since. Shame it'll be ruined with the gas hub.

See after all that I have never even heard of Barred creek. Despite talking to other travelers, reading books and scannning maps.

These photos are fantastic so I have made a note in the book for next time.Broome was flooded out when we were there. Bugger

Barred Creek is 40k north of Broome around the James Price Point and Quondong area :) Make sure you check it out next time you're up that way before it all goes to sh1t from the work planned up there!

Cheers,

Jason.

Hey Carl good onya.
Maybe a bit fast for some, I really don't have a an opinion either way how fast or slow people go, You've achieved something a lot can only dream about or don't give a toss about.
A big thumbs up.

Well that opened my eyes....... all the places you have been and you would be a good judge as you never spent any great deal of time so it is "first impressions" .......
""The Gregory River crossing at Riversleigh station '''''''' and """"" Lawn Hill Nat Park""""""
Both on my doorstep and i want to go other places, oh well maybe i am better off that i realise :-)

But ........ it goes without a doubt, the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence ....

Carl, hope there's lots of next times for you - and you can have fun till the next trip, researching all the bits you haven't seen. We've done big trips in most of the last 13 years and there's still lots of places we have yet to see, and many we will return to.
The Lawn Hill area ranks in my list of best places, too.
