Hi Tam
I don't knw if this lps, but I live about 40 minutes by road from the Tanami. We have had no substantial rain for about a week, and other than the corrugation, the Tanamii is a good drive through to the Halls Creek turn off, which is where you hit bitumen again.
There will probably be a lot of traffic at the moment, as there is a sports carnival happening in Balgo Community, other than that, all good.

Cheers

never timed it from the Tanami to Mulan. Rough guess, but I am close enought o the Tanami to respond. I assume you are Tony ex-KRSP.

It doesn't matter if some one went through yesterday or last week, road conditions can change overnight and I would suggest you learn how to check to road conditions yourself before leaving.

Some ways of finding this information is Dept of Transport web site, property owners, general stores / roadhouses and other travelers who are heading in the opposite direction to you on the same road.

One tip for remote travelling, don't really on other people and second hand information.

I know how to find out road conditions and I also know they can change over night it's just nice to get info from people who have travelled it..I thought this is what this web site was for, to ask other people and get info...I find your reply offensive as we are not stupid travellers.

Exactly. Thats what forums are for, asking questions. Without new questions they would just fizzle out.
