Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone has been to the Flinders recently? I know that there has been a considerable amount of rain, but I was hoping to take my camper trailer away for a bit some time within the next two weeks.
Anyone know if it is boggy or impassable - or generally not a good time to go?
Cheers, Smokey

Smokey,
Tracks do dry out very quickly - I wouldn't give up just yet!

Hi Smokey
The Flinders is a very big area and it will all depend on where you want to go. This great rain that we have had will be great for the area, making those usually dry creeks run and generally giving the countryside a real face lift. We are not in the middle of winter and with the now longer and warmer days, you will be surprised how quick the tracks will dry out. I have been told from locals up that way that this is the best display of wild flowers in decades and that alone is worth the trip.
Cheers
Stephen

As with weather in most parts of the world it can change very quickly.
The Flinders is no different and no one on here has a crystal ball!
A bit of advise...check the weather a day before leaving and on the day you leave....but things can still change and accessible area can become unaccessible.
Be prepared to get stranded for a few days if they close roads.
If you want to be sure the roads are open go when it's hot..... but then again even in summers there can be big rains flash flooding.
