Hyden-Bin Road...Hyden to Norseman,
Road open and in Good condition.
Bitumen out past Wave Rock is increasing
Have traveled many times and have found that it seams as though mining companies do a lot of the maintenance
Cuts a couple of hours of trip from Perth to eastern states
Plus the benefit of seeing the spectacular Wave rock

Thanks for that infor, Trev. I'm planning on taking that road quite soon to test a CT. I'll be towing with a 2WD (Magna stn wagon). Had the shockers replaced last week just in case it was still a bit bumpy.
Yes, I understand miners keep the road in good shape. Good on 'em. Plan on heading from Norseman to Kalgoorlie (where, to my shame as a native-born West Aussie, I have never been), then back to home in Perth via Merriden, which is apparently worth a stopover.
Cheers, Tony

Never mind Wave Rock. There are some impressive rocks signed along the Hyden-Norseman Road, as well as the colourful Breakaways; all easy access. There is a well signed Granite Discovery Trail. Good camp sites at Lake Johnston and The Breakaways.

Yes I agree, the locations you mention are all great
as are the Floral and fauna stops
As with all of Australia there is something interesting to see when there isnt
Know what i mean.
I find some people go barrelling across the land saying this is boring...nothing here

when if they took the time to have a look Our land is amazing.

I have been across the nullabor so many times Ive lost count
This time it had been raining the trees, bushs, flowers are blooming, the landscape is turning green
We live in a spectacular country

I've been advised that the road is graded every 6 weeks by the mining company as one of their conditions of approval by the Shire of Dundas. Don't know which end they start at though.

Hey everyone
just got back from eastern states
Road is still in reasonable condition.
Does vary as mentioned due to the cycle of grades.
Road is Ok for 2 wd,s
2 wd towing especially smaller car .....Debatable
I would not recommend as I would think load of van/trailer is taxing the Car anyway....even for a sealed road

But be Careful!!!

Better a 4 wd

Gravelspots or sand can catch a wheel and throw your vehichle
of line and if you are not sure how to handle that you could be in trouble
Also corragation know how to drive it and You will be OK

Be safe everyone
