G'Day,
I was out at Rover 4wd park last weekend near Tenterfield (great spot) and driving some of the tracks. While in low range 1st & 2nd gear on steep decline under the engine braking, my mate following pointed out i was blowing quiet a bit of smoke. It has never blown smoke before and hasn't since and dosn't use any oil. The engine was working fairly hard but it was also working hard on inclines etc but no smoke. Any idears on what would cause this or has anyone else had this happen before. Thanks in advance, GREAT SITE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Cheers
Paul

The only thing I can think of , is that on a steep incline you had some oil trapped near the valve , and it got sucked into the combustion chamber . Please also note , faulty brakle masters can alow brake fluid to get sucked into the inlet manifold and blow smoke . Is the vehicle on gas ? if yes it could have been the oil drip feed . If it drove home withought any smoke , I wouidnt worry to much about it . In another 200,000 you may want to start thinking about burning oil lol Venus Bay

check your oil level , if it hasnt dropped , dont worry about it . I use around 1 litre between services , quite normal for 200 kVenus Bay
