Hi, early to middle of next year I'm hoping to get a campervan
I have looked at toyota high top types, and pop tops,
I know i want a pop top so it can store in my garage,
I looked at a mazda e2000 which was nice, and auto which im looking at
it had 150,000 k's on it and was 1998 model, the caravan dealer wanted $27000 for it!,
This is the problem i have , I've seen a few others since , around the price I could
aford but some of them have a huge amount of K's ie 200,000 plus
should i be worried about this or if i find one i like and is the right price should i get it? the lower k's seem to be beyond my price range...
i want to do a lap around aus and some smaller trips too,
would like it to last me and not cause me greif every second day..
some thing like this

would like some thoughts, ideas,,
thanks
milo

Looks like you figured out what you want pretty
well. Just for the general idea of what people ask for this kind of vans, go to the members market of the CMCA website. Search for 'pop' on the monthly market pages. I've no experience with this type of campervans but I think a diesel with the same K's as a petrol at about the same price would be my pick. And the Mazda and Toyota have a good reputation. Just have the van
well checked by an independent (third) party. Have a good search!

Milo.
That stile of van is not safe on outback roads. With no protection at the front, just one thin metal panel between you and an animal you will have a high probability of hitting on a lap of Aus. A better option is the German vans like VW or my pick the Sprinter. If you have any trade skills you can pick up an ex
ambulance for less than $20k that is very safe and cheap to run. Eric.
