Hi Everyone,
Just received this email from the DEC over here in WA, and I thought some of you might be interested:
World Parks Day – Saturday 18 September 2010
The third annual World Parks Day is an initiative of the Parks for Life: International Urban Parks and Green Space Alliance. It is being supported by various national parks agencies across Australia including DEC in Western Australia and aims to promote the role of parks in people’s lives while encouraging people to enjoy and appreciate their local green space.
To mark the day this year, the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) will be granting free entry to members of the public into its world-class parks.
Please note that free entry applies to the parks managed by DEC at which entry fees apply and does not include
camping tour or other activity for which fees apply. In particular free entry does not apply to Calgardup, Giants or Cabaret
caves, Dryandra Woodland,
Geikie Gorge boat trip,
Monkey Mia Conservation
Park,
Penguin Island Discovery Centre,
Perth Observatory, Tree Top Walk or Yardie
Creek Boat Tour.
