Ok - I know that's not very technical, but what I am looking for is a thing that goes on your tow bar sort of a vee shape - apparently if you have the height of your van and tow vehicle right, you just back into this, and bingo - you are hitched (mostly) - husband was making one, it sits there still in the garage in
Melbourne, incomplete - never to be finished, unfortunately.
If I was in
Melbourne,I would go to Carac - the mecca for all things - but here in SE Qld, I don't know where to go -
As I will be towing the van by myself, this seems to be an essential item - hope you can help -

hi
watched the you tube of the thingy demo
and was gobsmacked at the way the bloke backs in at such a rate of knots
the whole caravan shook as he actually smashed into the tow hitch instead of just idling in gently
what a gung-ho ruff as guts approach
no wonder things get bent
cheers

I just bought one from my local van
shop $80. I may have saved a few bucks by shopping round but I was happy to get it and the the sucker working :-)
Any good caravan
shop should have them in stock

D2000Dug -
thanks for the advice - one of my problems is finding a caravan place locally - I live out in the sticks -
Boonah - will be heading in the Wynnum direction in two weeks, so will get one then.

Hi Julie,
Try giving Repco or Auto One in
Beaudesert a call and see if they carry them or could get them in for you. I am going on a weeks holiday today but I am expecting to be in
Boonah in about three weeks and could pick one up for you if that helps.
