Anyone got any comments on the ARB version? - currently selling $1179, story as I understand is that it is exactly the same (40 lt version), but that servicing of ARB is at ARB or Engel, whereas Engel is only at Engel...

Is there anything else to beware of??

isanders,
Just returned from our big trip in which my two brothers in-law had the ARB/Engle fridges. Both worked very well and they are happy. Can't coment about servicing as we have not had to yet. I would say however, that for the same money ($1'199) you can get an Evakool RF 60 that includes 240volt adapter and protective cover.

Cheers David

I bought one from Adelaide 3 weeks ago and i have no problems.I went through
the same thing and have came up with the arb/engel 40 ltr was the same and a good fridge.
Check recent posts on these because i got mine from toyota in Adelaide delivered for $995- to Melbourne due to a price war going on.
In melbourne they do not discount at all and they are all $1175

$1100 at Guests and that is apparantly their normal price.

I used the extra $100- towards my insulation cover but that is a good price at guests anyway.

islanders, I would be surprised if ARB were servicing them in view of the fridge tech required. ARB don't service these in Perth. The two fridges are identical except that IMHO the ARB one is a better colour!

Rays Outdoors recently had 13% (for 4 hours!) off Engels so I bought one- was in the market anyway- so got the cover in the "fridge" price and a $30 fridge temp. guage free before they said it was a mistake and they would not be giving any more away! Maybe they'll have these deals again?
