There are acres of these near Roxby Downs. It is the prettiest I have ever seen, having been going up there for 40 years.

Hi John,
I can only see Mt. Tingaringy. Would love to see the Tom Groggin Crossing as we will be heading there in January. Maybe you could post it?

Mate I have changed my viewing settings so you should be able to see the second picture now.
Just click on my profile and then on the photo itself and it should enlarge for you.

Here are a few more for you.
Sorry to te original poster for hijacking the thread on the Desert Pea, :-))

What a wonderful display. How lucky you are to have seen them. I have heard of white Sturt Peas but have never seen one. I'll be looking out for them next time I pass by there. No doubt the rain has brought them out is such profusion.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Beautiful! It must be wonderful to see them like that.

We have never been in the right place at the right time yet. The best display so far for us was in a neighbours front yard a couple of years ago here on the NSW South Coast.
He managed to get a few to grow in pots and they were spectacular.

Must be something else to see acres of them, and especially some white ones.

Thanks for posting them.

Regards,

Heather

Wow!! What a display & thanks for sharing it. There is nothing like seeing them in their natural habitat & we have seen them that way but never in the profusion you have just shared with us.

I guess Red is red & Black is black, but you have to see one of these beautiful flowers in their natural state to appreciate their depth of colour & their beauty. The black is just so "black" a sort of velvet black that shines back at you. A great display, & again thanks. Happy & safe travels to you.

G'day Paul & Bill

Brilliant photos .... I will be in the Roxby Downs / Andomooka area in a week or so & had heard there were lots of wildflowers in the area. Would you please advise location where your photos were taken.

Thanks

Greetings and wow! I have been looking for the last 20 years. Wherever they are, I'm not. I'm in Adelaide, where are the flowers between Adelaide and Roxby? I am going to photograph them in the next moth.
KIndest Regards, Warwick

Wonderful photos. We went through Roxby Downs last year and it was so dry. What a difference the rain makes! We have seen SDP before, including some unusual shades, but never a white one. Thanks for sharing with us.

Cheers,

Val

They are good photos, and as you say there are acres of them in many areas.
We went for a walk the other day and had to be careful not to tread on them.

I went out looking for white ones, but found some pink ones instead.

When lived in Andamooka we got to see the dessert peas but never a white one. It always amazed me how it was so dry and then after a shower of rain the area would have a green tinge to it. Flowers would appear. The healthiest animals we ever see were in dessert areas. Friends of ours say there is nothing to see in places like Roxby....wish they could be there now.

Thanks John, she's a pretty special girl. Our 2 girls had the trip of a life time and Andamooka was their favourite spot.

Yes, great pictures. And interesting to see so many flowers on one stem. Anybody know how many on one stem maximal. And never knew they were so whitish before opening up.
