Gday Folks,

Does anyone on here know where a man can find some good quality Wool bales?

Been looking a fair bit and have been told that all the good ones have dissapeared due to offshore (Chinese) classing.

I work in Native Seed collection and need to get my hands on a set that wont fall apart as soon as you put on the ground.

If anyone has any idea of where I can find these on the East Coast - please let me know and I will buy you a beer when we are within firing distance of each other!

If your not happy advertising companies - please message me individually.

Appreciate any help and hope your all enjoying the recent rains.

Where abouts are you located I am just north of Bendigo and can get you new nylon ones as the poly ones are not supposed to be used due to contamination problems. Try any stock and station agents they will have them.

BJ what are you wanting, the wool pack full of wool or just an empty pack (or bag) so you can put your seeds and branches in?

bj
pope packaging supply what you want.
i regularly buy wool bales from them in Perth.we use them for garden bags.i buy them in lots of 50. the last lot i bought in july cost just over $6 each.it may cost more if only buying a couple at a time.
i have pulled out last tax invoice and they call them
HDPE BOX SHAPE BAGS 700MM X 700MM X 1440MM [NEW POLY PACKS]
ITEM NUMBER 1100000004
they have offices all over east coast .just google them.
we have found these last at least a couple of years being dragged around the place.

thanks all.

Weve kind of gone through a few different types for the last 15 years. not sure of materials and origin however there seems to be a bit of variation on quality, with the newer ones not really on par with the older (like everything eh).

Were after something that lasts being dragged around and worked with constantly.

Will try the leads you gave.

g'day bj_cruiser,
If you have a small wool trader locally, you will find they often have a few second hand ones floating about they get from blokes with only a few sheep, they collect the wool from hobby farmers and small lots and class it and bulk it together ready for sale. Also when i worked on a large station with a lot of sheep we use to get the wool packs from the local Landmark Wesfarmers agent, we use to buy them in bulk before each shearing, probably works out cheaper. Also to help you clear it up, most people call it a wool pack when it's empty and a wool bale when it's full.
Cheers, John.
