Hi Guys,
i am new to Camper Trailers but after 20years with a 4x4 and a Tents i have finally decided that i should make the next step so i had a good look around , looke at so many trailers and went to the 4 x 4 show in
Melbourne and
well i think i understand that there is top of the range and budget and i will admit i am looking at the budget end because i only have the chance to use it may be 3 times a year.
So now to the point , i looked a the GIC and they look ok and then i found this Mario Trailers who has a model called Extrme Off Road and i looked at it and it looks ok but i really would like to hear from someone , hopeflly from Melourne , who has one and what experience he has made in regards to quality and what does OFF ROAD mean in regards to this trailer.
I really appreciate if someonecould tell me a bit more about this product.
Thanks

Hi Prado-wolf
To be honest I know nothing about camper trailers but I can tell you from experience out in the bush is were you want to take it. There are many brands out there that claim that their product is designed for the true off outback conditions. Over the years we have come across many so called off road campers in such locations at the Gunbarrel, Sandy Blight
Junction Track,Anne Beadell, Connie Sue etc.
If you intend to use this trailer in true remote area, make sure that it is built soundly or else it could be a very expensive piece of roadside litter.
You will receive many good tips from other people that are experienced with their trailers in outback conditions.
Cheers
Stephen

Prado-wolf,
Have a look on campertrailers.org,as they have an extensive range/types of trailers owned by others.
Take your time in looking Hire if you can, then you can see what you like or don't like in a camper.
Cheers
Ann D.

A couple of things to look at when buying a trailer. Make sure it is fully welded not spot welded. Make sure the drawbar goes right through to the back not just welded at the front as this becomes a week point. Try and match your wheel track to the car. Having
wheels that fit both trailer and car is an advantage. We havwe a section on our website about this if you want to have a look at
http://kidsandall.webs.com/lookingforatrailer.htm
Take your time and look at lots of them. Are you planning mainly to set up base
camp a that's it or do some travelling ei. setting up every couple of nights in a diffefrent spot, this will determine how quickly/easily you need to be able to set up. Happy hunting, brings back memories.
