I've been doing some major changes to my slide on camper, rear door added, new roof top tent, and some changes inside. I now need to make a new top cover for over the tent as the old one does not fit anymore. It was made of the same material as the side curtin on a semi trailor but lighter. I am now thinking of using the same water proof material as they use on camper trailors, the heavy duty vinyl rubber stuff. Question one, what is this material called and two does anyone know were you can buy it in Melbourne western side preferably but will traval to other side if needed.

A few years ago, I bought some similar stuff from Spotlight, or Lincraft. The stuff i bought was a vinyl, and a bit lighter than what is on our current camper trailer. It was easy to sew though, and waterproof. Worked well for what we wanted, but may not be heavy enough for you.

Murary
There is a very good canvas and tarp making business on the corner of Victoria Street & Buckley Street in Footscray.
I can't recall the name but I am sure that they would be able to help you out.
