Hi There,
I am planning a trip to
Cairns with my wife and two children (driving from
Melbourne) and want to get around
Daintree National
Park (4X4), can any one can suggest tracks /
places of interest would be greatly appreciated around this NP.
Also would be great if I can find friends planning trip to
Daintree during Christmas holidays so we can tour together.
Cheers.

Hey Mate - The
Bloomfield track runs right along the coastal edge of the
Daintree NP from the
Daintree river, through
Cape Tribulation and then up to near
cooktown. It's a sensational drive and is the main tourist route with plenty to see and do.
The "real" 4WD adventure through the middle of the
Daintree NP is the
CREB track, a serious 4WD track, unfortunately the main run through the track from the southern side (
Daintree river) will most likely be closed by December.
If you come up the Bloomfield, come stay with us at the Lions Den Hotel, and we'll show you how to get into the top section of the rain forest that - weather permitting - is still accessible at that time of the year.
Cheers - Max
