Hi to all local Adeladians. We are arriving down there on the Sunday, Oct. long weekend to pick up a 22ft van and spend a few days looking around. There seems to be a myriad of caravan parks around the city. Levi was one I looked at. Could someone recommend a
park that is quiet (away from main road traffic noise) and suitable so that we can visit the Zoo,
Birdwood motor museum and what ever else is possible. I am also wondering how far the drive to see the wild flowers would be.(If we could do a car trip in a day) We will have around 4 days, will need a powered site big enough for the van and Prado. Thanks in anticipation, Bob

Levi is the one you want, don't stay at the one in Hackney as there are too many Hobbo's around. From the Levi C/P it is a 5 minute drive to the city or a 10 minute bus ride (stops near
park).

Third that. Might want to consider the one at Windsor Gardens also. Has recently had heaps of $$$$ spent on it. Right by the river and an easy walk to Paradise interchange (buses and the O'Bahn).
My pick though is Levi.

Who are you refering to as Hobbo's ? we always stay there (stay there about 3 times a year) with out any trouble. Its central to where ever you want to go in
Adelaide. I think the Hobbo's are above S.A.

We caught up with some friends yesterday who are staying in a fifth wheeler at Brownhill
Creek Caravan
Park - it looks like a great bush stay with resident koalas and only about a 10 minute drive to the city/zoo (if that). The
park was extremely quiet as it's tucked back off the main road and had heaps of room for large vans. Would expect you'd need to book for a long weekend.
Re
wildflowers - I think you will need to head north towards the Flinders which is not a day trip - maybe other posters can correct me if they know of areas closer to the city where
wildflowers can be viewed.
If you're into wines and have time, I can recommend heaps of good wineries down McLaren Vale way only around 45 minutes from city - it's great having them at my back door!
Enjoy your stay here!

Thanks for the advice Guys. I should have added Adeladyians in the header as
well. I am thinking maybe to add a couple of days and travel back through the Flinders so we will see how we go with the City first. Also wanted to look at the Murray and a day in
Canberra. Oh to be retired and not have work schedules. Thanks again,Bob

Hi
We stayed at the Marion Big 4 last May. We thought it was excellent - but we were in a cabin and enjoying the comfits of the
park (attractive gardens and plenty of bird life) after
bush camping for a few weeks. It was very pleasant and the office staff were very helpful. Sorry, but I've no idea if it is near the Zoo. Highly recommend it.
