Thanks

I've never has a hassle finding work - when I tried :)
If you want to work as the local Dr. but your not qualified, maybe then you would have a hassle, but considering some of the stories on tv about un-qualified Drs. recently I may have to rethink that analogy he he he

We found the work about Australia book not much help. Most
places you have to apply through employment agencies which is a waste of time IMHO. You also have to be there at exactly the right time for each season. When we travelled I simply had a number of copies of my resume and when I was looking for work simply handed it out to everyone I could. Look everywhere for work not just the usual
places. Ask at caravan parks if they need any help or know of anyone. We found the important thing is to always be on the look out for work as if you wait till the next town when you really need to top up the funds there may not be anything but was a few towns earlier. One couple we met were travelling oz working for woolies doing night fill. They worked for a month then moved on. You could look at doing this with coles, kmart, big w etc.. By doing night fill ie.. start at 6 work till 11 it left the day free to look around. Just some ideas.

Must agree with Josh, as I also found the book to not be of much help. More of a reference book listing employers, and agencies such as Ready Workforce, seasonal info for each state etc, but not much good for actually getting work. Most emails I sent off for work enquiries went unanswered, or didn't get through.
The direct approach is the best, you will be suprised at how much work is out there, as long as you're prepared to be flexible and have a go.
Fred.

Met a bloke last year in a caravan
park cleaning gutters on their cabins. He commented that a few hours doing this was a day or two free stay in the
park. He commented that he had done similar things at many different parks in his travels.
Depending on where you are there is also seasonal work available. Whether it be harvesting or fruit picking.

SDG..
thanks for that info... and to all the other people who have repied to my questions. I'm never affraid to get my hands dirsty so even cleaning gutters for a few days free stay at a
park all helps...
Night packing of shelves at Woolies or Coles even would be great to add money to the coffers..
Keep the ideas coming please as my Wife and I will be selling up during the next 12 months to live around Australia so any help is a great benefit to us.
thank you all :)
