Two years ago we found the CP right in town to be the best. We enjoyed a week there. Management was helpful and everything was clean and tidy. We were there at the height of the fishing season but the park was not as packed and jammed in as the ones out at the point seemed to be. We did not have a boat so weren't worried about being a bit further from a boat ramp and found being in town much more convenient. By all accounts the town park was more friendly too, with organised Friday sausage sizzles and sociable Happy Hours. Karumba generally gets booked out if the fishing is good and many people from down south stay for months so you will need to book ahead, especially if you want to stay for a while.
Have a good trip! Lynne

Stayed at Karumba Point Tourist Park at end of July and found the owner/manager very friendly and all amenities in excellent order. The park was very busy but there didnt seem to be any holdups. I believe the owner of this park also owns or has a share in the Gulf Country Caravan Park so would expect a similar experience.
Also for a good restaurant try "Fish Breath" just across the road from the Gulf Country Van Park.
Enjoy the visit.

We stayed at tge Sunset last year at the end of the fishing season - walk distance to the pub, boat ramp etc - best place to catch sunsets, in my opinion.
