Hi,
When I am sitting idling my headlights, dash lights and instrument panel seem to flicker, it is regular and if I give it a few revs the frequency gets faster.
any hints?
Also, who can I take the jack to in
Hobart? for service, injector seals fault

Had the same problem with my 98 jack. Was there for the last 2 years.Just had alternator replaced under extended warranty($1160!!!) My alt was still charging at 14v,so I wouldn't be too concerned unless problem got worse. If car not under warranty and alt needed work done I would take it to a good auto elect and get the regulator replaced (a lot cheaper than a new one)

G'day Gronk and Glenos,
Is it diesel or petrol Jack? I think they have different alternators.

Gronk
which warranty do you have for your jack?
Manufacturers or aftermarket used car.
Why I'm asking is that we're about to purchase a secondhand jack
and it's things like this that a warranty would pay for itself if these problems ever come up over the three years.

Hello fellas,my warranty was a used car warranty and
mine is a diesel, but type of alt shoudn't matter as the problem is regulator(diode) related which is the same for all alternators. Only got
mine looked at because was still under warranty. As for buying a jack I would like a warranty of some sort to make sure the motor was up to scratch because a major problem will cost a packet!
Mine has now done 95,000km , has had two goes at injector orings(still blows smoke),one alt($1160)and one egr valve($254-not covered under warranty),but I'm happy with the way it goes as long as it doesn't ever break down !
