Diesel Fuel Injection Systems

For drivers of petrol/gasoline-engined vehicles, fuel injection is a relatively new innovation. Only in the last decade or so has fuel injection become the norm and its predecessor,

Wondering if anyone has installed a petrol injection system on their diesel engine like that talked about HERE. I would be interested to know what the performance outcomes are like and how it compares with gas injection.

Cheers John keep us posted as I certainly would like to hear how it goes. It is attractive to me as I don't have a lot of space left under my D40 now with the 160ltr long range tank to fit a gas bottle.

No problem at all, need to dyno before fitting etc, need base figure with Laminova intercooler, then fit different configuration Laminova intercooler, then fit petrol injection, may take awhile, LOL

What's the difference between that and poring a couple of lts of petrol into your diesel tank?

put 20 ltrs in a 60 ltr hilux 3ltr trb by mistake, ran great never missed a beat

By placing petrol into the diesel tank you displace the diesel.

What we are doing is ADDING fuel.

It is talked about HERE

If you scroll down to where it says "WHY PETROL INJECTION" it is there.

Digressing a little, the shop that fitted my turbo told me his most FAQ by 'phone is,
"I've just put x litres of petrol in my diesel tank what do I do now ?"
His reply,
"Just run it out adding diesel as often as you can".
Just don't do it too often is my opinion.
