I'm not sure the correct name of the tool but it is like a ring spanner with a slot cut out of it which allows the spanner to go over the fuel line and onto
the nut, normally need two of them. They are normally done up that tight its ridiculous, BUT if you try and use a shifter or open ended spanner it will strip the edges of
the nut and you guessed it you will need to buy a complete new fuel line so make sure you have the correct tool. They are available from most tool stores, not sure if you have a book on the vehicle to find the correct size of
the nut but if you don't let me know I will get my old gregorys book from the roof and have a look for you, either that just slipping an open ended spanner on
the nut will at least give you the right size spanner required. Regards Steve

Hi guys, As mark G says....it is a pipe spanner.
mazcan.... a crows foot spanner is basically an open ended spanner with a square hole just behind 'the jaws' to take the male end of a ratchet or breaker bar

Have you thought of putting a tight open ender spanner on
the nut, and giving it a "crack", with a hammer ?
Are you actually loosetning it ?... are you turning
the nut the right way.
Can you take the fuel line off from a different loaction.. ie further down the lines, and once removed, placing the filter in a vice ?
There are lots of ways to do the job..
When all else fails, take it back to the garege, that put it on, and get them to do it !
Cheers
Bucky

Hi Bucky, mate these nuts are so soft that if not the correct spanner will take all the edges off
the nut, they seem to like tightening them up so tight that they are nearly impossible to crack
the nut from the fuel filter. I wouldnt be using no hammer on it thats for sure, if out in the scrub and no other chioce then you do what you have to but when he probably has a spair parts shops within a 20k radius then I wouldnt risk damaging
the nut. Regards Steve
