We are travelling around Australia next year and Iwant to get an additional spare wheel.

Our caravan company is no longer in business. How can I find out what type of wheel I have and what over things do I have to be aware of when buying another spare?

Any tyre place should be able to tell you what the stud pattern is, and they would be nice enough to sell you a new wheel also I reckon

Hi Geoff,
My local caravan dealer told me recently that if the square axle under your van is 45mm square it is for stud pattern and if it is 40mm it is a Holden stud pattern.

Take your spare in to your tyre place if you are not sure and they should be willing to advise you.

Hope this helps.

Hi Geofff,
If you have 15" rims ( 205/65R15 tyres )
Check between the stud rim holes and usually, but not always, GMH is printed in small letters. Fords I do not know. I was caught out with a trailer spare a few months ago. Visually the both rims looked exactly the. With Fords the stud pcd is slightly larger.
