Hi to all, very new to this, have loved reading everybody's
blogs. Was wondering if someone could tell me what I have to get on my tow vehicle to hook up to our new caravan that will have a hyland hitch? I have a 2006 Navara STX with a factory fitted tow bar. We will get the van in a couple of weeks and if I need to get something fitted to my Nav I would love to have an understanding of what I am asking for so I don't come across or get treated like an dipstick. Would love any help at all.
Cheers

The Hyland coupling attaches to the standard 3500kg 50mm ball

It has to be a ball with a higher lip under the ball or the coupling catches. I had trouble getting a 3.5t ball with thick lip so spaced it with some washers. No problems although I realise the ball has probably been de rated a little.

Hi lisscoops,
When the coupling is on the ball, check that there is a 2mm gap between the tongue and the coupling, then you are ok. If the coupling is covering the ball and sitting on the tongue , the ball is incorrect in height.
