There was an article in the paper 1 -2 weeks ago about some serious weed infestations along the Murray – upper reaches within SA I think.
Anyone know how far the weed extends, or where is it really bad?
We're planning on taking a tinny up Loxton way next week - would the weed affect using a tinny?
Cheers

Duckweed..it is everywhere , but will not stop you using a tinnie...you may have to cut a path through it..depends where you are and how much if any is there...the extra flow going down the river may have shifted some of it..have fun...cheers

Gday
I thought they meant the weed that grows between the tomato vines.

JD Wynn,
You'll be be fine, the river is flowing quite fast, only issue you may have is in some of the backwaters, but apart from this the river is fairly clear.

The weed over the past years was due to lower river levels and warmer
water. With the flooding of recent and rain I don't think it will be much of an issue in most parts.
