Hi,

Have a '98 GU patrol with the Ti roo bar (standard Nissan Ti bar) fitted and wish to mount a hf antenna to it. It has two supposed "antenna mounts" that appear to small to mount anything off...Has anyone fitted an antenna to these mounts and how or do you suggest fitting a ARB antenna mounting clamp or similar instead.

I think you will find the mounts are for UHF or CB radio antennas. There is a fair weight and height in a VHF antenna and they need a good mount. Put it on a small mount and the bracket will fatigue and fall off. Go to a decent radio installer or 4WD supplier and they will be able to sell you a clamp on mount. Or get someone to weld a proper mount to the bar. You can weld a bracket onto steel or alloy Bull Bars, and this will be the tidiest option.

You said HF antenna either barrett or codan weigh several kilos the std ti bar is not suitable to mount one of these. But there is an excellent bracket that fits on spare wheel mounting points much better.Perhaps you mean the lighter uhf or am antenna
happy travels.

Provided they fall on the inside of the bar . . . NO . . .

I personally think on the back wheel carrier is or would be a better spot, but thats just my opinion.
