Hi All
Used our Hema Navigator for the 1st time in about 8 weeks and the screen has faded to a point that you cant read it.Everything else works ok , I was wondering has anyone else had this problem at all. If you touch the back of the unit the screen relights up.Anyone got any ideas.
Thanks Rob

It sounds to me as though the units backlight has a loose connection. How hard do you need to touch the back of the unit to get it to light up? You are probably just moving it enough to remake the contact somewhere inside.
The only way I can see to fix this would be to remove the casing on the back and see if you can re-solder the loose connection.

Hema, being map guys and very good at it too, I suggest the actual hardware would be a re-badged unit, most likely made in China, Malayasia etc. No reflection on hardware quality at all as Samsung (we have four TV's / monitors for different purposes) are mainly made in Malayasia and are at the top of the heap for quality in manufacture and viewing quality. Someone out there would know the real brand (or factory) which makes this unit as there are some very clever folk on this
forum. Sounds like a dry solder problem.

I had a slightly different issue with the screen brightness on my HN5 where it would always be dim when restarted. I needed to go into the brightness control screen and set it to max again (it was still set to max, I just had to select it and click OK) and it would then be fine.
Yours sounds like something is loose though. I would recommend sending a support request to Hema.
When I contacted them about an issue with the application icons not working they took a couple of days to reply which they assured me was not normal and was due to a system upgrade being in progress when I first contacted them.
When they did get back to me the information they provided was very comprehensive, easy to follow and fixed the issue, providing me with the latest HN5 OS upgrade on the way.
Good luck
Alex
