Hi all - we are heading down to Beautiful Brisbane from Tropical Townsville and wondering which van park to stay in. We have a 17' Windsor and would be happy to hear of anyone's favourite van park. They all read ok - any recommendations ???? I know the one at Rochedale has a tiny area for vans surrounded by cabins so that's out. Would like a bit of space !!!!

roberttbruce , its not the owners that want the "residents" and I'm using the term loosely moved on , police are sick and tired of having to attend the place as over the last few yrs it has become a half way house for the poor sods released from goal with nowhere else to go , developers are also after the block .

Alloy C/T ... I dont think it is the police that want them moved on - i'm sure they would see it as a social disaster to move them all out....

and on reflection, IMHO and even tho' the owners would have no duty-of-care as such, but im sure they would also see it as a bit of a disaster as well....

it's prolly the developer that wants them moved on the most... amazing in this day and age that still the colonialist mind-set still exists...maybe the developer should be held responsible for displacement costs....

either way about it, with 100-300000 immigrants entering the country each year, it's out with the old and in with the new eh'... gosh, soon the bush will be crowded

Hi,

Personally I would steer clear of the Nestle Inn Tourist Village on Manly Rd Tingalpa. Mostly permanents and not a nice environment.

G'Day Jay and Vee
We have stayed a few times at the Big 4 at School Rd., Rochedale and have found it quite good. We have a 24' van and no problem parking it there and the facilities are good. Space in citys will always be limited.
regards ,
John

Freinds of ours have used that a few times (it's local to us) and have nothing but praise for it.

One aspect you fail to mention is do you want Nth side or Sth side ? Long term or on a holiday ,close to what facillities [ hospital - city centre - tourist bits] , Brisvegas nowadays stretches more or less from Caboolture in the Nth to the GoldCoast in the Sth.

Have you looked at Badgers Australian Caravan Park Reports or Garry Strattons - MyParkList The second one requires registering (free) to be able to view the data.
