Hi All,
Could anyone give me a opinion regarding the capacity, both in power and econemy, of a 2005 Rodeo 4x4 5 speed manual turdo 3Lt diesel to tow a dual axcel caravan having a GMT of 2100kg.
Thinking of using this vehicle to tour Australia.

All responces appreciated.

Towing capacity straight from the handbook ,
Single cab chassis dx = 1650
Space cab = 1775 in manual 1660 in auto
Crew cab pickup lx = 1850
Crew cab chassis lx =1760 manual 1770 in auto
Crew cab chassis LT = 1765 Lt is auto.

GVMR = 2900
GCMR = 3250 no brakes
GCMR = 3750 with brakes
GTMR = 750 no brakes
GTMR = 2000 with brakes [ this is the one that affects you]
Max Ball Load = 200
Front axle capacity = 1300
Rear axle capacity = 1680

Not exactly the most powerful in its class either ,
96 kw @ 3800
280nm @ 2000 in manual 294 in the auto

Fuel economy ? A 250klm round trip to the shops on the dirt in 2wd and I'm using 38/40lt consistantly.
