Was thinking about getting a kovea little sun butane gas heater, they seem to be around $170, then I saw the companion model which seems to be identical from a specs point of view at $100

Any thoughts from owners of either brand.
Not interested in discussing safety issues etc as there are plenty of threads covering this topic.
Regards

Hi Michael
Have had a Little Sun for a number of years. It has performed faultlessly. We use it in our annexe which is about 3.4 metres long and it keeps it quite warm on a cold winters day. A can lasts about 2 hours on full. There was a thread the other day about butane, ISO butane and propane. Certainly worth reading as on very cold days the gas cans can freeze up until the annexe warms up. I just swap 2 cans over until the annexe is warm enough. I can't see why the Companion would not work as
well. Gasmate also make one.

Hi Michael
You would know then that are not Butanne gas heaters and little sun specifically state to use propane/butanne mix which is hard to get.
Just last week I posted thread on ISO-Butane variation which is ok.
The little sun is a better product, both in quality, and shape and size which works better with the heat rises principle , and also easier to make toast with - thought they were still in $120-$130 league though.
Couple of other types around also down to $89 at times.

Hi Michael,
we have been using a kovea Little Sun now for the past two winters and find it fantastic for those unpowered
places when heating is required for an hour or a two at a time. Warms our caravan very nicely and quickly too even in sub zero exterior temps.
I use whichever of the butane canisters is available and they all seem to work pretty much similarly. I contacted the website regarding which to use and was told that any were suitable.
We havent been sorry we paid the initial $170 or so.
Regards,
Heather
