I have a 60L waeco only about 4 weeks old, it has been cutting out recently both on 12v and 240v.
I haven't got my dual battery set up yet so i understand why it is cutting out on 12v but it should never cut out on 240v should it??
I'll come home from work and plug it it to 240v refill my
water bottles and make sure the compressor kicks in before I leave it.
then sometimes not always, I'll go out in the morning and it will be sitting on over 20 deg and the error light will flash 3 or 4 times every few seconds.
whats going on???

The 240v problem through the transformer plug. On one of my transformers the plug connection from the fridge into the transformer is loose so I have to tape it in to ensure a good connection.

This used to happen to me all the time with my CF80 until I replaced the Waeco fused plug with a Hela style. The fuse connection in the Waeco plug is very poor and caused voltage drop problems.

3 or 4 flashing is often caused by low voltage, usually when the compressor is starting and drawing the most amount of power.
Yes, it should not cut out on 240 unless you have a bad connection at the plug or bad connection at a fuse? (do Waeco's have fuses)
4 weeks old, I would just take it back.

Hi Chucky D
Have a look at what the waeco error codes mean in Reply 3 here:
waeco error codes
I am also not sure a dual battery setup will solve your 12V problems unless it is done correctly with correct size cable etc. With a Waeco you can simply purchase a waeco product and connect it up to whatever battery you want (ie: existing starting or aux when its set up. If you leave cable long enough you can move from starting to other when you are ready to) Have a look here for more info:
waeco RAPS unit
There is an Exploroz member that sells these (and other 4WD, Rv etc gear) If you want his details let me know. He helped me out with the Raps and it solved all my problems immediately and was very simple to install, cheers ....

Hi I had a similar problem. It turned out to be a faulty lead.

It is the same lead for 12v and 240V. 240V of course uses a transfer pack. In my case it was a faulty lead replaced it no more issues

The new waecos have separate leads, they have a built in transformer.
2 plugs at one end of the waeco side by side.

hey guys thanks heaps for your replies it now makes a little more sense,
because it cuts out on both 12v and 240v I'm thinking it might be 5 flashes which means not enough ventilation or very hot surroundings........
I have the fridge in my ute between 2 tool boxes (they are off the tray so were the vents are the boxes aren't) and i live in one of the most hottest
places in OZ, the very top of WA 40 deg today with very high humidity.
so I need to
park in the shade more often and don't obstruct the vents.
at least i think that's the prob. i'll try that and see what happens.
THANKS ALL!!!!!
or if there is any further advice I'd love to hear it.
