My wife Frances and I met up with Dave (BHQ) and his wife Nora at Broken Hill a few weeks ago.

Dave and Nora showed us around BH and Silverton and filled us in on the history of the place. .We also enjoyed a few meals and wine with them

We also had a look at Penrose Park,,, the site of a future members get together. I was pleasantly suprised at the the facilities,, it is going to be a great place to meet.

Dave and Nora are lovely people,,,drop them a MM if you are going through BH and say hello to them.

Dave and Nora thanks for the hospitality,,,, really appreciated it.

The Trades Hall is quite interesting,,, but I'm not sure I would have liked to work that time and under those conditions.

And while I'm on the subject,, what do you mean Daves just OK? ....... He's got feelings you know,,LOL

Have to agree with you guys, we were in BH some three months ago and met up with Dave and Nora.

We had a small problem with our van, which unfortunately couldn't be fixed in BH, but Dave and Nora did there utmost to help.

Dave also gave us some good tips on getting to the Flinders Ranges using back roads from BH, and also some historical sites to go see, which we wouldn't have known existed.

Cheers to Dave and Nora.

We also were the recipiants of Dave & Nora's hospitality in 2008. Our one day stopover in Broken Hill ended up being 5 days. Dave just wouldn't let us go because he had so much to show us.
Thanks Dave! You should have your own tour operation.
Everyone is in for a treat with the 2011 National Gathering.

Thanks for the comments everybody, but I am only trying to reciprocate the hospitality and friendliness that we have received from many other EO members that we have met on our travels.

There are usually a lot of places the locals know about that the visitor might not see if they are not in the know, and while we have been travelling, we have been privvy to being shown around many different areas by other local EO people and also really appreciated it.

That's a great thing about this site, that there are so many interesting people who want to share their knowledge and experience.
You only have to read the blogs and trek notes to see that.
