Hi All
I own a 99 nissan gu patrol with 4.5ltr petrol engine. I'm looking at buying a 22.5ft boat, which weighs about 2.5t (boat, engine, trailer etc), but am unsure about how the nissan will perform towing. Can anyone provide some insight?
We live in the
Pilbara, so would travel long distances (~500km) on open road. Am I likely to be able to sit on 100km/hr. Boat has collapsible canopy, so drag will be minimal.
Cheers
Zarby

I don't think you'd have any issues with the petrol being able to tow....so long as you are never too far from a servo, because it will love a big drink and quite frequently.......plan on using > 25L/100klm.
But power wise, it will do it easily (assuming the engine/cooling system is still in good condition)

If Zarby 's is an auto it the older 4 speed , and they did need to be watched a bit for overheating with such a load.

Greetings, I agreed with the first post. I owned one, it did all you want easily, with reserve. it was easily the most expensive to fuel of any I have owned. Range was only 60-70% of anyone I travelled with. Take a LOT of jerry cans.
