Hello,
I am looking for a performance chip for my 1999 GU 2.8 Turbo Diesel Nissan Patrol.

I have inquired through chipit.com and although they initially told me that they had a chip, a DPS 215(2), which would suit my car they now tell me that this is for a petrol and they don't make a chip for my diesel.

I need help. Does anyone know of a chip that is produced for that will suit my vehicle. I hope that there is someone out there who has fitted a chip and can recommend it.

Thanks
Kev

Any gains with that engine will be minimal, be sure to check any chip makers dyno graphs closely, you will find the gains so small that I doubt it would be worth persuing. Steinbauer for example only do chips for the 3.0 Patrol Diesel for that very reason.

I would try Motson's over Rocklea way. I have driven a mate's chipped 2.8 (Motson's handywork) and I was astonished at how it went......even down low which is where these things really lack off the showroom floor. I did not drive it with a trailer or nothing but it really went nicely compared to my modded 4.2T GU.

Hope this helps.
Trevor.

My 98 2.8D has a chip fitted. My brother inlaw borrowed it for a week and noticed a huge difference between it and their stock standard 2.8D.
Doesn't make any noticeable difference in the lower revs, but when the turbo kicks in the chip certainly does its job
