Pajero and Pajero Escape

Any one know the difference between a 1999 Mitsubish Pajero and Pajero Escape.
Just after we signed up for a 1999 Pajero the uver half saw an ad for an Escape $3,000 cheaper?

Pajero Escape is in between a Pajero GLX and GLS.
For example it doesn't have the blister guards of the NL Pajero GLS, rather it has the flat sides of the NK Pajero. It also has 15" rims instead of 16". Some other equipment differences
Otherwise it is the same drivetrain as the Pajero GLS. 3.5L V6, Superselect 4WD, etc.
In my opinion, it was pretty good value when it was new.
